Principles for IT Governance at UBC

IT Governance at UBC is based on a number of key principles.

Balance of Needs

IT Governance aims to provide mechanisms by which to balance the short-term individual needs with the long-term needs of the whole institution.

Federated and Integrated

Services are delivered under a federated framework making best effective use of the enterprise UBC Information Technology unit or from local onsite resources. 

University Driven IT Investments 

IT functions are developed and provided based on the requests and needs that are driven by the University under the prioritization direction of the institution.
